Before first use:
Clean your new cookware using hot water, normal washing-up liquid and a soft sponge or cloth.
Cleaning and taking care of your cookware:
Before cleaning your FONTIGNAC cookware, let it cool down. Hot glass lids are especially susceptible to damage when exposed to extreme temperature changes.
The cookware is dishwasher safe but we recommend cleaning by hand. Aggressive cleaning agents can damage the product and the non-stick properties of coated cookware. Burnt-on stains on the insides and bases of non-coated cookware can be removed using a scouring pad. Keeping acidic foodstuffs in your cookware for longer periods of time can damage the surfaces of the cookware.
Adding salt to cold water can lead to discolouring. Glass lids are unsuitable for oven use.
Advice on usage:
Fontignac pans have excellent thermal properties to enable the quick frying of food. Gently warm the cookware using a mid-range temperature setting and then cook at a low to mid-range setting. Use oil or fat with a smoke point of 200° C or above. Avoid using oil sprays. Clean coated cookware by hand.
Non-stick coatings naturally wear with use. Overheating and burning when cooking speeds up this process. Cookware with non-stick coatings are suitable for oven use up to 200°C (400°F) as long as the handles are not plastic. To protect non-stick coatings, we recommend you use wooden or silicone cooking aids. Do not use sharp edges and never cut food inside the cookware.
